Maria Paula Quesada is a Costa Rican writer, director, producer, and actor. From an early age, her approach to storytelling has been informed by vulnerability, humor and empathy. She earned her BFA in Film and Television Production from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, ranked #1 Film School in the world. She has worked for companies such as WarnerBros Discovery and has produced work for Sony Music, and Universal Music Group, as well as producing the award-winning short film ‘Cabbage’ (2023). As a director, Maria Paula has directed work for the largest music festival in Central America ‘Picnic Festival’, and most recently she wrote, directed, produced and starred in the short film ‘Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday’ (2025). The film premiered at NFFTY 2025, receiving a nomination for Best Narrative Film and winning an Audience Award.
